When the Replies Change

There are shifts in conversation that are easy to overlook at first.

Replies that come a little later.
Answers that are a little shorter.
Fewer questions asked in return.

Nothing abrupt.

Just a subtle thinning.

You may tell yourself it’s nothing. That people get busy. That not every exchange needs to carry weight.

And that’s true.

But you are also someone who notices patterns.

You can feel when something that used to flow more easily now takes a little more effort to hold.

It doesn’t always mean something is wrong.

But it does mean something has changed.

And it’s allowed to register that.

You do not have to ignore what you sense in order to keep things comfortable.

You can notice without reacting.

You can feel without deciding.

You can let the shift exist without forcing it back into what it was.

Not everything needs to be resolved immediately.

Some things simply need to be seen.
